In May 2008 , our cousin Deron Washington
graduated from Virginia Tech where he played for the Va Tech Hokies men's basketball team. On June 25th he was drafted to the NBA by the Detroit Pistons. Deron is the son of our cousin Lionel Washington who now coaches for the Greenbay Packers, he is a former National Football League Cornerback. Deron is the grandson of Cornelius and Laura

On Sunday, June 8, 2008 our cousin James Dabney received his Doctoral Degree from Ohio State University. His degree is Doctor of Philosophy in Social and Cultural Foundations of Education with emphases on Urban Education and Educational Administration. (He will be moving to Atlanta, Georgia soon) He is the son of Andrea Dabney Wallace and grandson of the late Albertha McBride Holly,
